Application and Registration

Eligibility

The Transitions Residency seeks biologists who are (i) conducting classroom research on learning, (ii) ready to share their preliminary results, and (iii) prepared to evaluate whether their work is ready for publication and, if not, why not. Competitive applicants have completed their preliminary studies, collected preliminary data, conducted preliminary analysis of their data, and possibly presented their work to colleagues locally, regionally, nationally or even in virtual venues. Competitive candidates will have knowledge about the teaching and learning literature relevant to their research and should be able to describe how their research contributes significantly to improving undergraduate biology education. Applicants who are not ready to publish their research should consider applying to the Biology Scholars Program Research Residency held each July in Washington, DC.
